Andrew Ntim

Andrew Ntim will be joining the Lawyers Committee for Civil Rights of the SF Bay Area's Racial Justice team to advocate on behalf of people experiencing homelessness and living in poverty in California. His work will focus on three major impact litigation cases seeking to end the criminalization of houseless individuals sleeping in public, end the sweeping and property destruction of unhoused peoples' possessions, and end San Francisco's practice of summarily towing legally parked vehicles & imposing burdensome fees because of parking tickets without assessing their ability to pay. Andrew will also work in coalition with homeless advocacy and anti-police terror groups to push legislation addressing these practices, and engage with other litigation partners and pro bono attorneys to build a legal network to support this work beyond my project term.Andrew is a 2022 graduate of Yale Law School and a 2018 graduate of Stanford University. At Yale, he was a part of the Challenging Mass Incarceration Clinic, where he represented clients in federal sentencing proceedings, and the Trans Justice Practicum, where he supported the work of jailhouse lawyers in Maryland fighting for LGBTQ+ rights behind bars. Additionally, Andrew was the Political Action Chair for OutLaws, a founding member of the Yale Law School National Lawyers Guild, and an extern with the Center for Constitutional Rights, Civil Rights Corps, Law for Black Lives, Advancement Project, and the Water Protector Legal Collective.
