Kathryn Koch
Kathryn Koch is a 2022-2023 Justice Catalyst Fellow at Health Law Advocates in Boston where she will assess patterns in predatory medical debt lawsuits by health care providers and develop streamlined pathways for medical debt defense. She will also provide direct representation to people currently being sued to pay for their care.Kathryn has over 10 years of public health experience with a focus on access to care. Formerly Chief Operating Officer at Casa de Salud, a St. Louis-based health clinic for people without insurance, she developed an advocacy-driven medical case management program and an award-winning mental health collaborative that creates access to counseling for immigrant patients. During law school, she interned with the Missouri State Public Defender and Equip for Equality.In addition to experience with safety-net health care operations, Kathryn has worked in disability rights, language access initiatives, and care coordination for justice-involved and unhoused men. Kathryn received her JD and health law certificate from Saint Louis University, MSW from Washington University in St. Louis, and BA from Macalester College.
