Sydney Zazzaro

Sydney Zazzaro will be joining Emery Celli Brinckerhoff Abady Ward & Maazel in New York City where she will work on groundbreaking civil sexual assault litigation under New York’s Adult Survivors Act. This Act creates a look-back window that allows survivors to sue their assailants or the negligent institutions responsible for their assault even if the statute of limitations had run out on their claims. Through these lawsuits, Sydney will create survivor-favorable precedent that will make it easier for survivors to go to and be successful in court even after the look-back window has closed.

Sydney graduated from Boston University School of Law where she was an active member of the public interest community. While in law school, she worked with Boston University’s Civil Litigation and Justice Program, the Civil Rights Unit at the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Massachusetts, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit. Before attending law school, Sydney was born and raised in South Carolina. She graduated from the College of Charleston’s Honors College where she studied History and International Studies and was heavily involved in the College’s Center for Civic Engagement.
