Lee Ann Felder-Heim

Lee Ann will join the Lawyer’s Committee for Civil Rights of the San Francisco Bay Area, where she will work to stop private, for-profit prison corporations from harming detained immigrants in their custody and hold them accountable for the harms they have already inflicted. Lee Ann will investigate and challenge systemic, abusive practices by filing claims under a newly-enacted California law which facilitates suits against private prison corporations. She will also develop and leverage a network of pro bono attorneys to file creative habeas petitions to meet the urgent need of liberating those who are currently in harm’s way. Lee Ann is a graduate of Berkeley Law and received her Bachelor’s degrees in Anthropology and Environmental Studies from Washington University in St. Louis.
