Mustafa Isaac Filat

Mustafa will join Public Counsel’s Opportunity Under Law team in Los Angeles, where he will work to protect the data privacy of California’s immigrant communities. Using California’s robust privacy protections, Mustafa will explore novel litigation strategies to prevent ICE from purchasing and collecting the personally identifiable information of California’s residents.

Mustafa is the child of Palestinian immigrants and grew up in Little Rock, Arkansas. Prior to law school, Mustafa worked as an immigration paralegal and barista in Washington, D.C. He is an avid supporter of the Arkansas Razorbacks and Borussia Dortmund. Mustafa is a graduate of Hendrix College and NYU School of Law.
