Sam Rosen

Sam Rosen is a 2022-2023 Justice Catalyst Fellow at the civil rights firm Gerstein Harrow.

There, he will work on the Independent Defense Project, studying the independence of indigent-defense lawyers, representing those whose independence has been undermined, and bringing lawsuits against predatory indigent-defense lawyers. In 2021 Sam graduated from Harvard Law School, where he was a training director for the Tenant Advocacy Project and a teaching fellow for Professor Jon Hanson, and spent his summers at Civil Rights Corps and on the U.S. Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee. Prior to law school he worked as a researcher at the Center for the Study of Race and Ethnicity in America, and graduated from Brown University, where he majored in Africana Studies. He is currently clerking for Justice Serge Georges, Jr. of the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court, and has written for The Atlantic, Boston Review, The Ringer, and GQ, among others.
